With the 2022-2023 season coming to an end in most European leagues, the departures of several players from their respective teams have begun to be confirmed, generating rumors about their possible destinations for the next transfer window that begins on June 14 in England. The most recent departure from European football is that of Eden Hazard, who reached an agreement with Real Madrid to terminate his contract.

Hazard, who became a Premier League star a few years ago thanks to his good performances with Chelsea, decided to leave the Blues to go to earn millions of euros in Spain with Real Madrid, but Hazard's decision ended up affecting his soccer career as the Belgian never showed the same level he reached in the English league.

While Hazard was part of Real Madrid since 2019 and "won" every tournament possible with Los Merengues, he never played a key role under Carlo Ancelotti due to his constant injuries and fitness. Hazard has seen his playing time reduced over the years, reaching the point of not being taken into account by Ancelotti with whom he is said to have no relationship whatsoever, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano.

Likewise, Hazard's value has suffered a resounding fall, as today the Transfermarkt portal rates him at 5 million euros. When Real Madrid bought him in 2019 they paid 115 million and, in 2018, he reached a value of 150 million euros.

Salah's lesson to Hazard

It is not something new that Real Madrid and other financially powerful teams try to snatch the best players from their teams, offering them million-dollar salaries. In the past, Liverpool legend Mohamed Salah was wanted by the Spanish giants, but his love for Anfield was greater and he decided to stay and continue winning titles with the Reds.
