The Fenway Sports Group, who control Liverpool, may be considering selling the team, but they don't seem to be devoting all of their time and attention to it, they want to own a team in the NBA, according to an ECHO report, that is the case according to the report, FSG appears to have plans to construct a new team from the bottom up with a Las Vegas home instead of purchasing an existing one.
One of the greatest basketball players of all time and former direct shareholder of Liverpool, LeBron James, is wanted to run the team, the success of the largest teams is more cyclical in the NBA than it is in the Premier League, which is one of their main contrasts, let's look at the two most successful teams in the Association, James' Los Angeles Lakers
And the Boston Celtics, who have won 17 titles each, the Celtics' Eastern Conference finishes in 2006 and 2007 were 11th and 15th (last), respectively, however, they won their 17th championship in 2008, and in the years that followed, they came very close to winning their 18th, they participated in the Conference Semifinals twice (in 2009 and 2011),
The Conference Finals once (2012), and the NBA Finals once (2010), where they fell to their fiercest rivals in Los Angeles, then, after dropping to seventh place in 2013 and 2015 and suffering first-round exits on either side of failing to qualify for the playoffs in 2014 when they ended 12th, there was a slump the NBA is typically characterized by feast or famine,
However the big-market clubs in the league are to some extent protected by their money, sometimes teams will put everything on the line, making compromises to put together a squad of stars in their prime, and accept the lean years that come when the peak wears off and the sacrifices start to show. The difficult part is to start over and rebuild, while this is going on, the clubs at the bottom of the league are creating a young squad by acquiring talent through the draft that will eventually displace those at the top.
