Reds legend Steven Gerrard appears to have found a new team as he is reported to have travelled to Saudi Arabia to sign as the new manager of Al-Ettifaq, leaving European football for the time being and starting an adventure in a league where he will face Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

Gerrard was sacked a few months ago as manager of Aston Villa after several poor results. He had previously had a first taste of managerial experience at Rangers in Scotland, where he was a champion and showed his ability as a coach, something that had Liverpool fans excited about a possible return.

After his sacking from Aston Villa, Gerrard was linked with a number of clubs and even came close to becoming Poland's national team manager, but ultimately failed to close the deal and was now commentating some Champions League and Premier League games, as well as having the option to play a friendly at Anfield.

They go with Gerrard

Given his imminent arrival in Saudi Arabia, Gerrard will have the possibility of signing several stars and two options are Roberto Firmino, who could sign for free and the other is the Cameroonian centre-back Joel Matip who would not continue in the Reds and could give prestige to the defence of his new team.
