The 100 million Manchester United stand to lose after Anfield humiliation

Last Sunday Liverpool crushed bitter rivals Manchester United. The Red Devils, who came into the game as League Cup winners, were favourites to win the match at Anfield, but the game ended in a historic 7-0 thrashing by the Reds who were unbeatable.

Jürgen Klopp's side were not only superior in goals, but also in level, as they dominated the game for stretches until the goals began to fall.  In the match, Gakpo, Darwin Nunez and Salah all had braces, while Roberto Firmino also added to his tally with a solitary goal.

After the match, Erik ten Hag exploded at his players in the dressing room and took the opportunity to make it clear to them that many players would never play another minute of football while he is manager. On the other hand, the former Ajax coach asked the players to keep quiet for a few minutes to listen to the Liverpool fans, who were ecstatic to have witnessed a historic win.

The blow to Manchester United 

The blow to Manchester United could cause them a heavy financial loss as their Champions League qualification places are in jeopardy, as with 49 points, Liverpool and Tottenham could overtake them. Liverpool made 100 million last year by reaching the Champions League final, and if Manchester United do not qualify for the next European Cup they will lose the chance to earn the same amount of money.
