However, everything seems to indicate that both the player and his current team have already reached the conclusion that he will not continue in Serie A next season and would have the green light to look for a new team.

While Amrabat could be a financially viable option and has proven to have the ability to replace Fabinho as the team's starter, there is one issue that could prevent his arrival at Anfield, and that is that Sofyan's availability could be in predicament for a key point in the upcoming campaign, and perhaps Jürgen Klopp would not be willing to risk it.
