Liverpool want to sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich this summer transfer window and the player is reportedly open to leaving the Bundesliga giants. Gravenberch joined Bayern in a £21m (€25m) transfer from Ajax last year, but his debut season in Germany proved frustrating as Joshua Kimmich and Leon Goretzka blocked his path to the starting line-up. Despite making 32 appearances in all competitions, he was only included in the starting XI on five occasions.
Bayern recently announced the signing of Konrad Laimer from RB Leipzig on a four-year contract, prompting Gravenberch to clarify that any update on his future will come after the European Under-21 Championships, which conclude in early July. Although Manchester United have also been linked with the young midfielder, Liverpool's interest appears to be more advanced. The club are willing to back Jurgen Klopp's wishes for his signature, suggesting talks could be ongoing.
Gravenberch, 21, is considered one of the most promising talents in his position. His ability to distribute the ball, his vision and his ability to get into the opposition box make him a very attractive player for Europe's elite clubs. Liverpool see him as a valuable addition who could strengthen their midfield and add depth to the team.
Jurgen Klopp has proven to be an adept manager at developing young talent and giving them the opportunity to shine on a high-level stage. The signing of Gravenberch could fill that void in Liverpool's midfield after the low level of names like Henderson and Fabinho.
