The end of the 2022-2023 season was not as expected for Liverpool fans, who will have to wait at least a year to have a Champions League match at Anfield again. During that time we hope that the Reds can show signs of a resurgence that will make us dream of being among the top places in the Premier League and to that end the Liverpool board hired Jorg Schmadtke, coming from the board, as the new sporting director.

Schmadtke has not wasted any time and, in coordination with Jürgen Klopp and his coaching staff, they have set some objectives for the upcoming transfer market that will start on June 14 in England. In that sense, our new sporting director has set his eyes on the Bundesliga, as it is a market he knows perfectly well and in which he believes he could find the necessary players to reinforce the team.

While it is true that Alexis Mac Allister is the top priority of the Reds' board, Schmadtke knows that the German league could be the ideal place to find young and inexpensive talent. That is why he has provided a list of four young players he will be looking to sign this summer.

The four players in question are Florian Neuhaus of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Josko Gvardiol, who plays for Leipzig, Ryan Gravenberch of FC Bayern and Daichi Kamada of Eintracht Frankfurt. In total, these four players add up to a value of €150 million, with Gvardiol being the most expensive with a value of €75 million according to the Transfermarkt portal.

Other Bundesliga targets for Liverpool

While those four players are the ones Schmadtke is proposing to bring to Anfield, Klopp could have other plans, as the German tactician has set his sights on two players he considers key to the restructuring of the team: Randal Kolo Muani and Manu Koné.
