After weeks of searching and sagas with sad endings, it seems that our Liverpool would finally be very close to the arrival of their long-awaited defensive midfielder, who could give the team the necessary boost to be able to compete to win the Premier League.

It is no secret that Jürgen Klopp and the Anfield board had established as a priority this summer the reinforcement of the team's midfield, since it was known that the team would suffer several losses in that area of the field. However, the departures of Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, which were not budgeted, ended up unbalancing the team and since then the need to sign midfielders became urgent.

That is why, during the last few weeks, our Liverpool has been looking to sign at least one defensive midfielder and although the board has been close to achieving it, there is still nothing official. In that sense, the Reds have been very bad after what happened with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, because not only they failed to sign two great targets, but it was also exposed that the team has the money needed to make a record signing, so it is estimated that now they will have to pay large amounts to reinforce.

Now, with just over two weeks to go until the end of the transfer window and with the urgent need for a new midfield signing, Liverpool have their sights set on what could be their third signing of the summer and for whom, according to Miguel Delaney of The Independent, they could pay less than £60 million.

Who is it?

We are talking about 23-year-old defensive midfielder Cheick Doucouré who currently belongs to Crystal Palace. According to journalist Miguel Delaney, Liverpool have stepped up their efforts to sign him and the player would be inclined to come to Anfield, so personal terms would not be a problem.
