This summer has not gone as many Liverpool fans expected, as at the beginning of the transfer window it was reported that the Reds would make many moves for the new season and they have made them, but they have not been as many as the fans would have liked, as so far the Anfield board has only managed to finalize the arrival of three players and on the other hand a total of 20 players have left the club between free agents, loans and permanent sales.
However, it seems that Liverpool's lack of signings is not due to a lack of candidates but to other factors, as we have been one of the most active teams in terms of rumors.
One of the great unknowns that Liverpool fans had for the start of the 2023-2024 season was to see in which position Jürgen Klopp was going to place Trent Alexander-Arnold, as the player himself had expressed that he felt more comfortable playing as a midfielder, but it seems that the German tactician does not trust anyone else to occupy the right wingback position.
That is why for several weeks there has been a rumor about Liverpool's alleged interest in Benjamin Pavard, FC Bayern's right back, which could allow TAA to play further forward, but the German coach does not seem to have intentions to let him leave despite the player's express request.
Bayern coach Thomas Tuchel has assured that indeed Benjamin Pavard has asked to leave the club. However he said that with so little time in the transfer market, he must think first of the well-being of the team so he will continue to count on him, hinting that he will not allow his departure. "The request came to me very late, which surprised me a bit, we have to think of the interests of our club. As of now, I'll continue to work with him," he said.
