The start of the transfer window is getting closer and Liverpool is shaping up to be one of the teams that will make the most moves, after a disappointing end to the 2022-2023 season in which they missed the target of qualifying for the next Champions League. Faced with this, the Reds are preparing to get young players, even if it means competing against other big clubs in Europe such as Real Madrid.

In recent days there has been talk of Liverpool's interest in reinforcing their midfield, as Jürgen Klopp and his coaching staff consider this area to be a priority for the transfer window.

In that sense, Liverpool would have already secured their first signing for the 2023-2024 season, since Alexis Mac Allister, the World Cup winner with Argentina in Qatar 2022, is practically assured to arrive at Anfield, but it is expected that the 24-year-old midfielder is just the beginning of an intense summer for Liverpool, which is already considering incorporating at least two or three more players in that position.

The Reds' board of directors would have gone to the Spanish league, to sound out a player who in the last round of La Liga was the executioner of Barcelona and who also interests Real Madrid, since he is a young player and who, according to Transfermarkt, is valued at 30 million euros: Gabri Veiga.

Who is Gabri Veiga?

Gabri Veiga is a 21-year-old Spanish midfielder who currently plays for Celta Vigo. According to the latest reports, Veiga has aroused the interest of several teams in Europe who consider him one of the best players for the future. Liverpool and Real Madrid are presented as the two big players interested in him, however the Reds are positioned as the favorites to sign him. Veiga has a 40 million euro buyout clause.
