Although the season has just ended and the summer market window is still one month away, Liverpool's board is already planning the next one, and that translates into the players that could be part of the team for the 2023-2024 campaing, in which Reds will be playing Europa League and competting for the Premier League title with Manchester City.
In this regard, Alexis Mac Allister has been probably the most talked-about to join Jürgen Klopp's team, and according to Fabrizio Romano, the Argentine international is near to become the newest member of Liverpool FC, as the club has already reach an agreement with Brighton & Hove Albion, to transfer the 24 year-old to Anfield ahead of the next season.
Mac Allister, who won the World Cup in Qatar 2022 with Argentina's national team, has enjoyed a great second half of the season with Brighton, which put him at Liverpool's radar a few months back, and now Anfield squad has decided to take the next step in order to make Mac Allister to wear the Reds' jersey.
The versatile midfielder, who played six matches at the 2022 World Cup alongside Lionel Messi and under the orders of Lionel Scaloni, would become the most expensive transfer in the history of Brighton & Hove Albion if the transaction finally comes to fruition. Mac Allister is now valued in 40 million euros according to Transfermarkt portal.
According to information circulating, Liverpool is goin to pay less than 70 million euros figure originally set by Brighton, which would make the argentine player the most expensive sale in team's history. This transaction will also benefit Boca Juniors, as they will receive around 3.5 million euros for the transfer of their former player.
