A few months ago, even before the end of the 2023-2024 season, our Liverpool would have had interest or at least the idea of bringing Mason Mount to Anfield, as at that time Mount had been dropped from Chelsea and had very little activity, however very early in the transfer market, Jürgen Klopp dismissed that idea.

Since Liverpool stopped showing interest in signing Mason Mount, Manchester United emerged as the 24-year-old English midfielder's favorite destination, and since then Chelsea rejected several offers from United, causing the Red Devils to waste time and other targets they had to go to other teams because they focused too much on Mount.

That is why, once again, Klopp has proven to be one of the best in the world, as he anticipated the whole situation, knowing that Chelsea would demand too much money for Mount, a player who did not have much activity last season, playing in just 35 games in all competitions and scoring only three goals.

Jürgen Klopp decided not to pursue the signing of Mount as he would have considered him too expensive and instead decided to sign Alexis Mac Allister, a player who had a better season and was considerably cheaper. Mason Mount cost United almost €65 million when he was actually valued at €60 million, while Liverpool paid only €42 million for a player valued at €65 million.

Liverpool's reinforcements

So far, Liverpool's management has done a good job in securing the signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, both of whom promise to become important players on their Anfield debuts. Between the two transactions, Liverpool have spent 112 million euros, and it is expected that they will still go for a couple of new signings.
