The 2022-2023 season was disappointing for Liverpool fans as the team failed to qualify for the next edition of the Champions League. Faced with this, Jürgen Klopp opted to rebuild the squad, for which he put under his radar young players, particularly midfielders, and one of them is Képhren Thuram.
Thuram, son of French legend Lilian Thuram, is just 22 years old and plays for Nice in Ligue 1, a team with which he had a great season, which led him to arouse the interest of major European teams such as Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain, who immediately approached the player's entourage to convince him to join their respective projects.
However, everything seems to indicate that Klopp's plan has finally convinced Képhren Thuram, who according to various reports has already reached a personal agreement with the Anfield board to become the Reds' new player next season and now only needs the agreement between the boards to make his signing official.
If the deal goes through, Képhren Thuram would become Liverpool's second signing in this transfer window, following the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister. In this way, the German manager plans to cover the departures of Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who performed well in the team, but during the last season did not perform as expected.
According to French newspaper L'Equipe, Liverpool have already entered into talks with the Nice board. The Ligue 1 side would be willing to accept up to 40 million euros for their player, who is currently valued at 32 million according to Transfermarkt.
