The German champions would have considered Klopp to take the reins

A surprise decision was made in Munich with the early departure of Julian Nagelsmann, who was skiing in Austria when he learned of his sacking. The 35-year-old coach had lost a ten-point lead to Borussia Dortmund, who now overtake them in the Bundesliga.

According to indykaila News, Bayern Munich's board of directors had tipped Reds coach Jürgen Klopp as the number one choice to take the reins. This Twitter user claimed that Klopp rejected the chance to join the German club. Bayern were willing to wait till the summer, as they understood that the German would not easily leave Anfield.

Klopp, who arrived on Merseyside in 2015, has been by far one of the best managers. While this season has been a poor one, the former Borussia coach has enough credentials to be considered by any other top club in the world. Now with Nagelsmann's departure, Bayern have reportedly made a juicy offer for Klopp.

Klopp's numbers are enough to put him in the orbit of any club.

Jürgen, who has a contract until 2026, decided to decline the offer from what would have been his fourth professional club, not to mention the youth management of Eintracht in 1988. It was only a matter of minutes before Klopp said no to his compatriot Thomas Tuchel accepting the job, following his departure from Chelsea FC a few months ago, according to Fabrizio Romano.
