After a disappointing season in the Premier League, where Liverpool failed to finish in the top four and, therefore, was left out of the next Champions League, Jürgen Klopp is already starting to think about the changes he will make and one of them directly involves Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez.

Darwin Nunez arrived last season from Benfica for 80 million euros, with the task of taking Roberto Firmino's place in the Reds' attack. However, due to injuries and his lack of finishing in front of goal, he was relegated to the bench for most of the campaign, scoring just 15 goals in 42 appearances.

Nunez's last goal came on April 17 against Leeds United, which annoyed Liverpool fans who expected a better performance from the 23-year-old Uruguayan striker. Now, with the transfer window just around the corner, the Anfield board is evaluating the signing of another striker, because although the team has Diogo Jota, it seems that Nunez is not enough to compete with him.

Klopp already has his eye on Nunez's ideal replacement at Liverpool, as he has set his sights on one of the great promises of French football who dazzled the world during Qatar 2022 and even made history by scoring the third fastest goal in the history of the World Cup: Randal Kolo Muani.

Kolo Muani's numbers this season

Randal Kolo Muani, who currently plays for Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, scored 23 goals and dished out 17 assists in 46 games. In other words, Kolo Muani was directly involved in 40 goals for his team, proving that he is a prolific player who could help Liverpool return to the Champions League as soon as the 2024-2025 season.
