Liverpool announced on Tuesday that 19-year-old Scottish right-back Calvin Ramsay, one of their summer signings, has left on loan to Preston North End (Championship) for the forthcoming season. Ramsay joined the Anfield club from Aberdeen, to whom Liverpool paid 4.9 million euros.

Injuries dogged Calvin Ramsay during his first year at Liverpool. The Scotland international (once with the senior side and three times with the Under-21s) underwent knee surgery after picking up a knee injury on 16 February and was sidelined for 104 days. Ramsay made just two appearances for the Reds.

After Ramsey's departure to Preston, Trent Alexander-Arnold is the only pure right-back that Jürgen Klopp has in his squad. It cannot be ruled out, therefore, that 19-year-old Conor Bradley, who has had a great season on loan at Bolton (Third Division), could be a possibility.

the other one to go

Leighton Clarkson is no longer with Liverpool, having been sold permanently to Aberdeen of Scotland, where he spent last season on loan and performed well. At the age of 21 he played 38 games for the Scots and scored six goals, so the English midfielder will continue his career there.
