On social media, Liverpool fans complained about Liverpool's acceptance of a friendly against Racing Strasbourg, a day after winning the Community Shield at Leicester's King Power stadium by beating Manchester City 3-1, only to lose in 20 minutes by three goals.

With substitutes and youngsters, a very different line-up to the one used against City, the Reds fall against one of the worst clubs in France. Fans felt it was unnecessary to have organised this match, while others claimed what a mockery of the world it will be, even though the game was played with only youngsters and substitutes.
