At last there is transfer news for the Reds, Wataru Endo is now a Liverpool player, having passed his medicals the Japanese player could feature in Saturday's game against Bournemouth where the Reds will make their debut at Anfield, so it is hoped that the team will put in a strong performance and Wataru can show that he can bring great things to Liverpool's midfield.

The relationship between Liverpool and Japanese players is not that old, as only one Japanese has played for the Reds and now Endo will be the second, the first was Takumi Minamino, who in December 2019 joined Liverpool from Red Bull Salzburg in Austria where he had made a great role scoring 64 goals in 199 games giving great performances, so Jürge Klopp looked at the Japanese to strengthen his attack.

On his arrival at Anfield Minamino didn't seem to have the best reputation so there were doubts about his participation, however the Japanese player delivered when he was needed and although he wasn't a spectacular player the winger was present when the team needed him most scoring three times in the FA Cup and four goals in the Carabao Cup helping the team to win both titles in the 2021-22 season, however he was a somewhat undervalued player.

Decisive moments for his arrival

When in 2019 Takumi Minamino arrived at Liverpool it was not to be an undisputed starter, he came to give rest to Salah, Firmino and Mané, so his appearances were less and less recurrent, now with the arrival of Wataru Endo it is different because his arrival is to reinforce the weakest area of the team, without a starting player, so his performance will have to be very good and to convince both Klopp and the fans that his recruitment was decisive and can help the team.
