Questioned about the intense rumours linking Roberto Firmino with Juventus, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has made it clear he has no intention of facilitating his departure. He said: "The way we play in the last few years has only been possible because of Bobby. He is fundamental for us.

Although he has given him a more secondary role over the course of the 2021-2022 season than in previous campaigns (only 10 Premier League starts), the German manager is not prepared to let go of a striker whose contract with the Reds runs until June 2023. "He is the heart and soul of this team," he added.
