Those who only recognise Liverpool as a giant in Europe for its trophies or for its great footballers who have been part of its history are completely wrong, because the Merseyside group goes beyond just being a triumphant team in English football and the old continent, being an institution full of principles and values that shows society those empathy gifts in an infinity of charitable works that it carries out throughout the year to different foundations or associations.

For the Reds there was no better excuse than to use the Legends game against Manchester United to resume this type of altruistic acts, and what better way than to help those who need it most after having won the game 2-1 and the Legends of the North crown, with Mark Gonzales and Florent Sinama-Pongolle the stars at Anfield. On this occasion, funds will be raised from the auction of autographed shirts from the Reds' assistants, with all proceeds going to the LFC Foundation.

Among all the Liverpool stars who took the time to play against the Reds Devils, the name that stands out the most is undoubtedly that of Xabi Alonso, one of the last legends of the institution that somehow continues to generate positive things at Anfield, as his autographed shirt currently reaches an auction value of 917 euros, with just over 4 days left for those interested to make a counter bid and raise the cost of this piece even more.

Alonso's shirt is by far the most expensive on the list, doubling the price of the former Polish goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek's shirt, which is worth 436 euros. In third place, the shirt of Spanish midfielder Luis Garcia is worth around 304 euros, while the jerseys of the scorers at Anfield are a couple of rungs below that at less than 270 euros.

At the moment, the Liverpool jersey with all bids still active has already accumulated a total of €6,323, which is sure to increase in the just over 100 hours remaining until the end of the auction which has the 14th jersey as the people's favourite. In addition to the shirts, Liverpool sought to create a mural depicting their legends past and present to be sold once the Anfield Road expansion is completed, with the money also going to the LFC Foundation.
