Darwin Nunez will face a season that could be decisive for his future at Anfield

Next season could be pivotal to Darwin Nunez's future at Liverpool. After a disappointing debut season for the Uruguayan striker, in which he could only score 9 goals in the Premier League, many fans asked for his departure from the club, as the board paid 80 million euros for him a year ago.

However, Jürgen Klopp has repeatedly said that he has full confidence in Darwin and is sure that sooner or later he will show what he is capable of. It seems that the confidence the German tactician has placed in Nunez could pay off, as the Uruguayan striker is already starting to show signs that the work he has been doing is paying off.

Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson has already decided to turn his back on the club ahead of a very complicated season in which our Liverpool will try to reverse what happened in the campaign and will have as a priority to return to the Champions League as soon as possible. Henderson was considered by Klopp to continue being the captain of the team, but everything seems to indicate that he prefers to go to earn millions of euros to the Saudi Pro League.

On the other hand, Darwin Nunez seems more committed than ever to the Liverpool project. Liverpool's new number 9 was one of the first players to report for pre-season and has been training since the vacations to raise his level of play.

Darwin Nunez impresses in the preseason

In Liverpool's first pre-season game against Karlsruher, Darwin Nunez opened the scoring and scored the Reds' first goal. This could help boost his confidence, as Nunez is struggling to earn a place in the starting lineup and with performances like that he could do just that.
