Lionel Messi, captain of the Argentina national team, received The Best award for the best footballer of 2023 at a ceremony organised by FIFA on Monday 27 February in Paris. In the voting, the South American beat Kylian Mbappé and Karim Benzema. On the other hand, on the women's side, Alexia Putellas, triumphed as the best female footballer. The night was also special for the members of the 'Albiceleste', as they won the awards for which they were nominated. Scaloni was voted "Best Coach", 'Dibu' Martinez "Best Goalkeeper" and the Argentinian fans "Best Supporters".
Mbappé attended the ceremony in a dark blue suit with a dark blue tie and white shirt. But the most eye-catching accessory was a Hublot watch. The model was the big bang hubbled, which is valued at around 15,000 euros. However, compared to the watch worn by Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp, it is not even half the price.
According to the Oracle Time website, Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp wears an ICW Aquatimer Ceratanium 50 Years Aquatimer Edition watch, CHF 50,000 (roughly £40,340). It is known that jürgen doesn't like to be flashy in his attire or ostentatious in the things he wears but this watch is one of the most expensive accessories he owns and is worth much more than the watch worn by Mbappé at the the best ceremony.
According to the specialist contract website Salary Sports, which reveals that coach Jürgen Klopp is paid 10 million, the Welsh striker is reportedly earning around £46,436,000 a year, making him the highest paid not only in the Pool but in the Premier League itself. Mbappé's quality is undeniable, but his price tag means that very few clubs can afford his services.
