It's official, Dominik Szoboszlai is a new Liverpool player after signing his new contract with the Reds, which will link him to our club for the next five years. The Liverpool board has managed to sign one of Jürgen Klopp's main targets, and everything seems to indicate that he will become one of the team's big stars for the next few years.

To sign Szoboszlai, the Liverpool board had to pay 70 million euros, an amount that they hope will become an investment, since at 22 years old, Dominik is valued at 50 million, but if he has good performances that value could increase considerably, as happened last season with Luis Diaz.

With this signing, the Reds management showed that they are capable of doing good business, because although the transfer price is quite high, the predisposition of Dominik Szoboszlai to play at Anfield facilitated the negotiations regarding the player's contract, who will not receive a salary too high, which would allow our Liverpool to continue signing other players.

The opposite case is that of Manchester United and Mason Mount, who was also one of the players on Jürgen Klopp's radar. However, the German tactician anticipated that it would not be easy or cheap to bring Mount in, so he decided not to sign him. Now Mount, who has already agreed a deal with Manchester United, will have one of the highest salaries at the Red Devils, despite the fact that he did not play much at Chelsea last season.

The comparison between Szoboszlai and Mount

Last season, Dominik Szoboszlai played a total of 46 games for RB Leipzig in all competitions and scored 10 goals, being a key player for his former team. Mason Mount, on the other hand, was not a star at Chelsea and played only 35 games, scoring only 3 goals. However, journalist Chris Bascombe revealed that Mount will be paid around £250,000 a week, while Szoboszlai will be paid less than half that amount.
