Almost three months after reaching Anfield, 23-year-old Uruguayan forward Darwin Núñez has had trouble adjusting to the Premier League. This has caused him to communicate poorly with Liverpool boss Jürgen Klopp, with whom he speaks very little. In three games player so far already scored two goals, one in the league and one in the Community Shield.

Coming from Portugal’s Benfica, Núñez came to Liverpool with the label of scorer. In the NOS League he played 85 games and scored the impressive number of 48 goals, becoming one of the stars of his team and of Portuguese football. This aroused the interest of several major teams in Europe, but the Reds were the ones who kept him in exchange for 75 million euros, fulfilling one of Jürgen Klopp’s wishes.

One of the tasks of the talented scorer born in 1999 is to learn English. So far, he has been working hard to improve on the field, and especially in his temperament that already cost him an expulsion against Crystal Palace that had him suspended for three games. But he will also have to take English lessons to be able to communicate better with his teammates and especially with coach Jürgen Klopp.

On this subject, Klopp said: “When it was clear he was out for three games, then we thought Oh, the first game he can play again is the derby! he said. If he hadn’t had the red card three games ago, he probably would have had by now! He learned the lesson and is in really good shape. He’s really happy that he’s back, that he’s not suspended.

Darwin Núñez doesn’t speak English

"Always when I gave him a high-five, I gave him a slap on the neck as well just so he doesn’t forget. That can stop now. He’s looking forward to it, I’m pretty sure. The English didn’t improve as much in these 10-15 days so I don’t know exactly but it looks like it.”
