It is no secret that Liverpool are looking for more reinforcements in the summer transfer window. After a disappointing season, Jürgen Klopp has set his sights on returning to the Champions League as soon as possible and to do so he would need to sign several players who can help the team return to the top of the Premier League.

So far the Reds management has done a good job in securing the arrivals of two of Jürgen Klopp's big targets. First they signed Alexis Mac Allister who had a fantastic season with Brighton and with the Argentina national team with whom he won the Qatar 2022 World Cup. A couple of weeks later, Klopp insisted and convinced the board to pay Dominik Szoboszlai's 70 million termination clause with his former club RB Leipzig.

However, everything seems to indicate that Klopp would not be satisfied with those two signings and would be looking to continue bringing in new players. Several reports claim that Klopp wants to sign a defender and a midfielder, the latter being his main priority after the multiple departures that the team had at the beginning of the summer.

For several weeks now, Liverpool had been linked to a player capable of playing both as a central defender and right back. We are talking about Benjamin Pavard, who won the World Cup with the France national team in 2018 and currently plays for FC Bayern. According to various reports, Pavard wants to leave Bayern and would not be closed to a possible arrival at Anfield, however it would be Jürgen Klopp himself who would have ruled out his signing, as he would have other players in mind to strengthen the team.

Klopp's main targets

Taking into account that Liverpool wants a defender and a midfielder, Jürgen Klopp would have already chosen his main targets for those positions. On the one hand, Levi Colwill is the defender that Klopp considers could be the perfect partner for Virgil van Dijk, and as for the midfielder, Klopp's eyes would be on Romeo Lavia, for whom they are already in talks with Southampton's board to sign him.
