Former Spanish player Xabi Alonso will join the Reds legends for the second leg of the Northern Legends, which takes place on Saturday 24 September (3pm BST kick-off). Alonso joins the likes of Martin Skrtel, Fabio Aurelio and Momo Sissoko for the match, with more names to be added to Sir Kenny Dalglish's squad in the coming weeks.

The former midfielder became a fan favourite after playing 210 games and winning the Champions League, FA Cup and UEFA Super Cup in his five-year Liverpool career. Alonso retired from football in 2017 after also playing for Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, as well as winning the World Cup and two European Championships with Spain.
