Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou isn't bothered by Manchester United's decision to keep goalkeeper André Onana for the match against Spurs, despite most of the league's African stars having already departed for the Africa Cup of Nations. Onana is set to stay with United until after its clash with Tottenham on January 14, even though his nation's tournament starts the next day.

This has caused some controversy. One can only imagine what Jürgen Klopp would make about the prospect of Onana playing twice in the space of 24 hours, which looks ridiculous from a player welfare perspective — and also doesn't say much for Manchester United's faith in second-choice stopper Altay Bayındır, who only arrived in the summer.

Meanwhile, West Ham boss David Moyes criticized the schedule after he was left without Mohammed Kudus and Nayef Aguerd for the game with Brighton this week. He called out the inconsistency, claiming it does not seem 'correct' that Liverpool was able to rely on Mohamed Salah 24 hours earlier, nor that Manchester United can delay Onana's departure for another week or more on top of that.

However, Postecoglou doesn't seem worried about the edge United might have gained. He was asked whether he felt Manchester United had an unfair advantage. "I don't think it's fair or unfair," said the Spurs boss this week. "Each club can deal with it the way we want. There's other reasons for these kind of things, but no, certainly, what other clubs do doesn't affect me or the way I view it.

The fight with the Red Devils

Onana joined from Inter Milan in the summer when he had retired from international football after a disagreement with manager Rigobert Song. But the 27-year-old is now back playing for his country and his call-up has caused a problem for Erik ten Hag, who admitted the discussions were held when the goalie arrived.
