The Reds boss took 37 players with him for the second half of pre-season and almost all were active, including the youngsters who were tested against another Premier League opponent.

Colombian Luis Diaz started in attack as a left winger with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Firmino. He had 45 minutes of little activity, lacking the explosiveness of last Tuesday against Manchester United.

For the second half, Klopp changed all 11 players, and in the 77th minute made nine substitutions, with the younger players predominating. The goals came from Jordan Henderson's right-footed strike and Mohamed Salah's left-footed effort.

Liverpool return to Germany un Europe

Liverpool return to Europe for more friendlies next week. They visit Leipzig in Germany on Thursday 21 July. Meanwhile, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain suffered a muscle injury during Liverpool's 2-0 victory against Crystal Palace on Friday that requires further assessment, Klopp confirmed.

The No.15 was forced off with the issue during the latter stages of the first half in the win over Patrick Vieira's side in Singapore.
