That sense of disappointment with the one-goal draw against Manchester City quickly turned to concern for Jürgen Klopp over potential injuries to Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota, both of whom picked up niggles during the game at the Eithad Stadium and could be out for an important part of the Reds' season.

While Alisson Becker needed treatment on the pitch during the closing stages of the game, Diogo Jota had to limp off the pitch just nine minutes into the second half, with no definite diagnosis as to the severity of the issue, leaving Klopp himself in doubt after saying that both players felt some discomfort, but with no further details. Any prolonged absences will be tough for Klopp and his squad, with Liverpool still facing 11 games in 38 days after their trip to the Eithad Stadium, and it could be a tough end to the year for the Merseyside outfit who currently sit third in the Premier League and with a place in the next round of the Europa League not yet fully secured.

Although it seems that Jota is the player who could have more complications to return to the pitch, it should not be forgotten that Becker had an intense activity in FIFA date, playing both games as a starter with Brazil, without against a long return to England for hours later to be guarding the goal of the Reds against Manchester City.

Klopp already has a solution for possible absentees

Should Klopp not be able to count on either of these two players for the upcoming games, it is likely to see Caoimhin Kelleher in goal, who despite having a bad night in France against Toulouse is still a good replacement for Becker. In Jota's case it is easier to find an effective replacement, as Luis Diaz could easily take over the left winger's role.
