Liverpool's clash with Brentford came as a surprise to Reds fans who saw minutes before kick-off that their midfield captain Jordan Henderson would not be on the pitch from the first minute, causing the player some frustration that turned to anger once the national anthem was played at Anfield.

Given the problems that exist between some cities in England with the coronation of King Charles III, the territory of Merseyside is one of those which has for many years had a clear position on such issues involving the crown and sport, having at Anfield for this reason little respect in keeping silent or singing the anthem of the country.

The situation that infuriated many fans in the stands and on social media, is that in one of the shots you can clearly see Hendo singing the anthem from the substitutes' bench, earning the immediate disapproval of several users on social media even though the player is one of the most loved by the Reds fans.

Hendo could leave Merseyside

Beyond the endless recriminations against him for having sung the national anthem, Jordan Henderson after being a substitute against Brentford and after having learned of the possible signings of the institution, this experienced British midfielder knows that his time at the Reds may have come to an end, becoming a piece perhaps with the possibility of leaving for another team because he could not fulfill in Liverpool his dream of sharing the field with Jude Bellingham.
